It is what we have needed in Raleigh for a long time. Antonio’s Gourmet Market has a wonderful “Big City” feel. The employee’s are very knowledgeable and extremely nice. The prices are not out of sight, considering what you are buying. The fresh produce and meats are right in line with the other like grocery markets. For example, the price for the prepared chicken breast are $7.00 a pound(boneless) and I ofter pay $5.49 a pound uncooked. One of the choices available, as I mentioned, is the prepared chicken breast with picatta and parmesan, but there are many more choices. The salads are freshly prepared and there are abundant side dishes and pasta dishes available.  You can order a complete dinner for two which includes the entree, side items, salad and dessert for approximately $18.00 and the portions are plentiful.

The great part about this market for me is that it helps with portion control and not over ordering. I always have so many leftovers as I am use to preparing for a large family and I often forget that lots of people do not eat enormous quantities. I certainly cannot prepare a meal of this caliber with all of the ingredients and the time involved for these prices.

I am planning to have about 20 people over this week(no, I am not having a party), just my family for my son’s birthday and I will be getting a lot of the food from Antonio’s. They will vacuum seal the leftovers so you can save for later. I can assure you there will not be any leftovers at my home. My boys love to eat and their appetites have not decreased over the years.  I love to feed them. My late dear husband, Bernie, used to say they do not eat they graze… Anyway, I just had to tell you about this gourmet market in Raleigh, NC. Perfect place to shop for the season.

Some other parts of interest of this market would be their deli, fresh bakery, pizzas(they deliver), many different sauces and ingredient items. Fresh seafood and wonderful meats.

I have often been told not to go to the grocery store when you are hungry as you tend to buy to much. I am telling you to go when you are hungry as the samples will certainly suffice for having a delicious lunch.

Hopefully, they will do well and be around for a long time. I am certain that the prepared foods are allergy conscious and you can order accordingly.
