We are so fortunate to have a symphony orchestra in our area of this magniture. I had the pleasure of going this past weekend and enjoying every moment of the entire performance which was focused on the music of Leonard Bernstein. His daughter, Jamie Bernstein was the narrator and told many wonderful stories about her dad and his music. One of his most famous scores was West Side Story and you would have thought I was hearing it for the first time instead of the thousandth. Some of his other achievements were Candide, Wonderful Town and On the Town. They were all equally enjoyable.

His daughter has traveled the world sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for music. http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/09/18/1493661/bernstein-revisited-with-love.html#storylink=misearch. The conductor, Susan Hicks, was spectacular. The singers were marvelous and the dancers were terrific.

The North Carolina Symphony was superb as always. Of course, I am a little prejudiced as I am proud to be the mother- in- law of Jackie Saed Wolborsky who happens to be the gorgeous, talented Associate Principal violinist for the orchestra.

Everyone was amazing and it was a fabulous evening. The audience seemed to be in awe. Again, I say that we are so lucky to have this available to us and we shold all participate as often as we can and take advantage of what our fair city has to offer.
